Our developer’s outlook towards an Interesting Client

There was an interesting project we worked on, which fell apart early in the cycle. For some reason, we realised it very late, like after 90% of project completion. The developer who closely worked on this project, was requested to pull the site down. She was not disturbed, in-fact was very peaceful and composed. She was definitely attached to this work, considering the effort she had put in. When I asked her on how she is so detached and very fine about it, her response was awesome and had so much for all of us to learn from.

She said: Jay, my intuition did tell me this project had slipped away, right in the start and I ignored it. The client always expressed huge resistance and cornered me in most of the meetings. I knew they were just waiting for an excuse, hence I made sure to exceed expectation with a hope that the client will complete the site with us. It didn’t go that way, I have to pull it down… and every time I look at this site, it makes me happy. Am light. No guilt/regret.

After a short pause, she added; I gave them the best :), they were not ready for it.

I was floored, so floored by this generous outlook. This beautiful conversation with her helped me big way to dust this drama behind and spring back.
